A little something…

My heart intertwined in your lies,

Beats slower and slower

As it struggles to work past the strangulation.

My mind feeds it the truth

But it still beats for the day

When its harsh truths become, 

A dead field of planted myths

 Meant to be set ablaze

So that this burning love 

Overcomes your decietful bones

And the ashes of our feelings

 Can flutter in the wind

And land on prairies of a bond

Stimulating the growth

Of our hearts

Beating as one…

Team of Me…

I was at a leadership seminar sometime last year and the speaker was talking about different people that you need on your executive board that make everything run smoothly. The way she introduced this is by relating it to us individual. I called it the team of me theory.

Basically you have certain people on your lives that are there for a certain reason…for example you got the Soother. The person in your team that no matter what you do they back you 100% and when you do wrong they don’t beat you down with judgment. Another person would be the Realist. The person in your life that does have your back but unlike the Soother, they will tell you like it is in a heartbeat. Then you have your Competitive Edge….someone who motivates you to do better through doing better for themselves. Those are just a few examples of some of the characters that we associate ourselves with…..or rather SHOULD associate ourselves with. So ever since that I try to associate myself closely with people that fit into my team of me in a positive way.

Your friends are a reflection of you and because we as a human race like to place like with like in our personal lives and relationships. So obviously we choose friends that we have common ground with. The more destructive a person friends are to them can be a reflection of their destructive nature towards the world or themselves. SO basically the moral of the story is to look at the people you surround yourself with. Are they breaking you down or building you up? Are they out for themselves or out for everyone else? Maybe the reason you have so many issues is because your attracting the drama that your team of me is harboring. Think about it…just food for thought….
